Seven Reasons to Cry - Elizabeth Reitzell

1.

She kisses me, tastes my Cheetos,
then whispers, “I hope you
don’t think I’m flirting.”

2.
Citric acid weeps from the rind
of the homeless man’s last
remaining tangerine.

3.

between her index and her thumb.

4.

scissors
in homage to the sun.

5.
“I want my death to teach you
to love with a soft heart,”
Mama says.

6.

the dancer’s fishnets leak
down her legs.

7.
“Give her what she wants,”
my thigh tattoo reads.
I see it when I fuck.
